The tree of hope by Buble The tree of hope by Buble
I did this painting for a lady who lost her son to suicide... she was visiting a brother of hers in Canada, and he'd lost a daughter in a car accident..

This lady and her brother were walking and talking and sharing their grief.. When they came upon this tree that was growing out of a rock.. She came back to Holland and told her story at a woman’s church meeting how this view had given her courage, and hope to go on, that she said.. ‘‘Even out of something hard can come something beautiful''.....
After the meeting. I volunteered to paint this .. I had no photo.. Just went by her story.... when she received it, she remarked how accurate it was. To the point that even the mountains in the background, for it was so.. And that she had not mentioned in her story to us.... needless to say, she way very happy with the painting.

Oil on canvas 60X 70 cm.

I like the contrast and smooth application of oil. Adds an almost dreamlike quality. Good job!

I really enjoy this, it reminds me of the early work of the surrealists, when the genre was dedicated to the idea of art that is "more than real". Images more beautiful than reality could be.

We're hanging in there and thank you so much for asking  My hubby had a bad accident a few weeks ago, broke every finger in his right hand, so it's been a stressful time for us. I think he is on the mend. He had surgery last week and has been in physical therapy since. He plays the piano, guitar, and banjo, is Mr. fix-it, and loves to cook, so it has been a huge adjustment for him. I miss his cooking, but I'm losing weight, so maybe something good will come out of the bad, lol.

How have you been? I sure miss my friends here! =)

You are so sweet! My hubby says thank you for your well wishes!

I have 30 pounds to lose, too! =( It is hard with a man that cooks like he does! I'm trying. I know your frustrations. A year ago I was working out 4 times a week for 2 months and making great progress, had a routine, etc. Then I severely sprained my ankle, and now 11 1/2 months later, it still hurts and makes working out impossible. This last year is when I gained most of the weight. Very frustrating. =(

Maybe this will be our year, friend. Hang in there!

Yes... hanging in is the most important... and a perpetual change of life style.. my eating habbits are not really that bad, but my weakness is a cookie, chocolate or ice cream... try to stay away from them as often as possible, but darn! it's so hard! :(

Sorry to read about the ankle, I sprained mine when I was 11 (soooo long ago haha) and I still feel a weakness there to this day, dont want to undermine your hopes, but it may be that you''ll always have to be careful with it.... let's think possitive and say to ourselves... " this is our year!"
Be well my friend, Hugs, karen.

It was such a sad story, he'd been missing for three weeks, found him in a river after theice melted.... very sad to say the least, and when she was telling the group about her experience, I just had to offer her my talent, as she said she could not even draw :painter:
